My Compass/Wiredcountry Wireless Internet

Hi there,

Located in Hamilton, I've signed myself up to Compass/Wiredcountry for Wireless Internet,

Below are 2 different game servers within NZ,

Ping statistics for 202.50.176.78:

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 26ms, Maximum = 29ms, Average = 27ms

Ping statistics for 58.28.96.41:

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 26ms, Maximum = 27ms, Average = 26ms

Upon joining the servers, I get a latency of 80-130ms, not the 20-30 I should be receiving,

A few of my friends have had and do have Wiredcountry Wireless for a long time getting 20-30ms with several people on the Internet at once.

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate and have the usage of a "Linksys BEFSR41" router & a standard D-Link wireless g router.

When I use the Linksys I get real bad internet stability to get a "12ms" ping to the servers, but the connection dies straight again and the net has a short time out before being able to connect to the Internet again.

Does anybody know why or how I can reduce the ping.

cheers,

koaL.

[edit] I am on the 2mbit/256k 10GB plan.
